# Pie / Donut (chart type)

## Overview

* The Pie chart is a circular statistical graphic that is divided into slices to illustrate numerical proportions. Each slice represents a proportionate part of the whole, and the complete circle represents 100%.

* First, click on any "+ Add widget" button to add a widget.

* Click on the Pie chart option.
* Click on the Add widget button to proceed.

* Choose the available Collection or Connection of the data model that has been added.

## Set up your Pie chart

* First, choose a column for the Slice column.

* Continue to choose a column for the Angle.

* After the Slice column and Angle columns are selected, the Pie chart will be displayed.
* The Sum formula will be auto-selected. You can change to other [Formula](/docs/dashboard/footer-formula.md) options.

* Hover to the Bar chart to check for details.

* You can click on the 🖊 icon to [customize](/docs/dashboard/custom-column-configuration.md) the column of the Y axis.

## Change Pie chart to Donut chart and vice versa

* In Properties, click on the Donut chart icon.

* The Donut chart will display the same data as the Pie chart's configuration.

## Change to the Pie chart type from another widget

* The Pie chart option can be selected by opening the Settings slider and then clicking on the Properties option.

* Click on the View type dropdown and choose the Pie chart icon to begin configuring your data model to the Pie chart.
